The Relaxation Company was founded in 2004 by business woman and complementary therapist, Mary McPherson. Having spent over 30 years studying each aspect of the body from the point of view of alternative therapies, Mary believed there was a need for an holistic solution to coping with the demands of modern life and that, by working together for the common good, complementary therapists from all backgrounds could make a significant contribution to people's health and happiness. The concept of The Relaxation Company was born.

Mary’s conviction that the balance of the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspects of the human body are directly linked to long-term health has led her to develop a strong network of like minded people and it is this philosophy upon which The Relaxation Company is founded.

Mary's experience has shown her that the body is the healer, not the therapist, and there is no health system currently able to circumvent the body’s own system. She believes that we each have available a diverse tool kit of expertise ranging from conventional to complementary and alternative medicine and therapies. No GP or health practitioner can help us until we choose to help ourselves by becoming involved and committed to our own healing process.

Mary qualified as an aroma therapist in 1994 and is a member of the International Federation of Professional Aroma therapists, holds a teaching diploma in Dru Yoga Therapy and is an active member of the Kinesiology Federation having qualified to practice in 1999.

Mary continues to work on a one to one basis with clients, carrying out group therapy sessions and workshops in addition to her role within The Relaxation Company, where she works with commercial, public sector organisations and schools to provide a unique employee benefits package that empowers, enhances and provides enjoyment for their key assets: their people.
